Wakulla Serenity

Painted from photo references and memories of a wonderful day on this magical river.  I give myself special days in places like this...just to take in the wonder, breathe the air, listen to the sounds.  I don't paint...just take some photos to remind me.  When I look at the photos later - it all comes back.  I know a painting is emerging when I can feel it again.  I don't try to copy my photos...just let them remind me of the experience...and the general lay of the land.  Then I let my memories take over and the painting is born.  I just re-immerse myself - as if I was there with easel and paints...and just let it flow.  One of my most favorite things to do.

It is wired and ready to hang - with a painted black 1" frame on the back.
