Sunflowers-a-la-VanGogh

This was so fun to paint!  I love impasto (thick textural paint).  And I love mixing brush and palette knife techniques.  This is of course inspired by Van Gogh in idea...but not intended to be a 'copy' of anything.  He painted many of this type - vase with sunflowers/background wall and table divided.  To learn from the masters was my intent here - along with just having some fun!  I did learn a lot, and have since applied that knowledge to other paintings of different subjects.
