BeachParty!

Join me on one of my favorite excursions!  White pelicans, with their striking black-tipped wings, have always fascinated me. I’ve spent countless hours observing them—especially from my kayak on Florida’s Indian River—watching them soar, fish, and play with effortless grace. To me, they are nature’s own masterpiece.   

This painting was pure joy to create!  A composite of my many waterway encounters, it captures a lively sandbar gathering where these regal birds mingle with their smaller companions. I wasn’t focused on intricate detail—you wouldn’t see it from this distance anyway—but rather the essence of the moment: the carefree energy, the effortless beauty, and the kind of scene you’d only discover by venturing off the beaten path, out on the water.
